On 23 September 2023, High Commission of India in collaboration with the Department of Archeology of the Government of Bangladesh organised the premiere screening of the documentary film “Chinnapotra: Padma Pare Rabindranath” at Rabindra Kuthibari in Kushtia. The documentary film directed by Dr. Chanchal Khan, is a narration of the collection of letters that Gurudev Tagore wrote to his niece Indira Devi during his stay in Kuthibari from 1889-1895.

In his inaugural address at the event, High Commissioner Pranay Verma described the film as a journey into the soul of Gurudev Tagore and a work of cinematic excellence. He praised the contribution of artists from both India and Bangladesh who participated in the making of the film and called Gurudev Tagore’s life and works as a shared cultural heritage of India and Bangladesh. He also described such collaborative works as a reflection of the close cultural bonds and the strong people-to-people connect which are the hallmark of our relationship.
Mr. Selim Altaf George, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Kushtia was also present on the occasion.
